I happen to be on the e-mailing list for Jameco electronics. They send out a nice little electronic newsletter with ideas for fun things to do with electronics. Of course those are electronics that you can BUY from them, but they really do have some great ideas.
In their most recent newsletter, one of the articles is about PWM – Pulse Width Modulation.
What’s really neat about PWM is that it’s how you control the speed of a DC electric motor, for example, the one on my electric car. But PWM can also be used to dim lights, create audio, and do a whole lot of other fun things. It’s a great concept to learn more about.
