My friend Chris is building an all-electric motorcycle, but the best part is that he’s doing it with a very nice Open Source Controller.
Built from a kit slightly modified from Paul and Sabrina’s EV Stuff, the controller will handle 144V at up to 700 amps! Also, Chris’ cycle is off getting a body designed for it, so while he waits, he’s been learning about PWM, motor resistance vs amperage, and lots more. Of course college students don’t have much money, so his test rig consists of a drill motor, with him grabbing the chuck as a load.
